Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 13 September 2026
1. Introduction
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile applications Phrasal Verbs in Action, English Idioms in Action, English Vocabulary in Action, English Grammar in Action, English Reading in Action, and Psalms, developed by Artem Taranukha.
2. Information We Collect
When you create and use an account, we may process the following data:
- Account data: email address and unique user ID (UID) provided through Firebase Authentication.
- App data: learning progress, settings, favorites, and other content you save in your account.
- Security and technical data: sign-in activity and related metadata needed for security, reliability, and fraud prevention.
- Support data: information you send to us when contacting support.
- Optional AI Assistant: questions, recent chat history, language and relevant learning context (such as words, examples, lesson tasks and learner answers), as described in section 14.
Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are not visible to us in plain text.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- create and manage your account;
- sync and restore your learning progress and settings across devices;
- secure the app and prevent abuse;
- provide optional AI explanations and practice, enforce usage limits and review answers you report;
- respond to support requests;
- comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Where required by law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: performance of a contract (account features), legitimate interests (service security and reliability), your consent (where applicable), and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We share data only with service providers that help us operate the apps, primarily Google Firebase (for authentication and data storage), under applicable data protection terms. Apps with subscriptions use Apple or Google and RevenueCat to process purchases and verify access. Where the optional Assistant is available, we use OpenAI to generate AI answers and exercises. See section 14 for Assistant data processing.
6. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, Firebase Security Rules, app verification where configured (such as Firebase App Check with Apple App Attest, Google Play Integrity or reCAPTCHA Enterprise), and encrypted data transfer. No system is 100% secure, but we continuously work to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. If you request deletion, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law. Limited backup copies may remain for a short time.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can also request account deletion at any time.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
10. Children's Privacy
Our apps are not directed to children under the minimum age required by applicable law to create an account without parental consent.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the effective date of this policy.
12. Contact Us
For privacy questions, data requests, or account deletion requests, contact us at:

13. Firebase and Google Services
We use Firebase services provided by Google. You can read more at:

14. Optional AI Assistant in our English-learning apps
This section applies wherever the optional Assistant is available in Phrasal Verbs in Action, English Idioms in Action, English Vocabulary in Action, English Grammar in Action or English Reading in Action. Availability depends on the app, installed version and service configuration; this policy does not activate AI in an app. The Assistant provides English-learning explanations and can generate additional exercises. AI answers can be inaccurate.
What is sent and why
When you send a question or select a quick question, your question, limited recent chat history, interface language and relevant learning context are sent through our Google Firebase backend to OpenAI to generate a reply. Depending on the app and question, context can include the selected word, phrasal verb or idiom, definitions, translations, word forms, examples, reading passages, grammar explanations, tasks, reference answers and your exercise attempts. Only the context supported by the feature you use is included; opening a learning item alone does not send an Assistant question. Do not include information you do not want these services to process. Payment-card details are not sent to OpenAI by this feature.
Choice and permission
In versions with the AI consent dialog, you can allow this sharing before the first request or cancel and continue learning without AI. You can use “Withdraw AI permission” in the chat to prevent further requests until you agree again. Withdrawing permission does not undo processing already performed. If your installed version does not yet provide this control, stop sending Assistant questions and contact us if you need help with deletion.
Local history and backend records
Conversation history is stored locally on your device; it is not a cloud-synced chat archive. We do not normally save questions, replies or learning context as transcripts in our backend database. We keep account-linked request identifiers, status, timestamps, protected request digests, usage and cost statistics, limits and verified access records to operate the service, prevent duplicate charges and abuse, and verify access. An anonymous Firebase account still has a user identifier.
For the Grammar and Vocabulary Assistant services, request and rate-limit records are scheduled to expire after two days; daily usage, budget and verified-access records after 35 days. Other optional Assistant services retain operational records only for the period needed to provide the feature, enforce limits and protect the service; applicable retention details will be provided when those features are offered. Automatic deletion can take additional time after expiry. A minimal account-deletion marker can remain to prevent delayed requests from recreating deleted records. Infrastructure logs, backups and aggregate records may follow separate retention schedules.
OpenAI retention
Under OpenAI’s default API data controls, API data is not used to train its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in. OpenAI may retain prompts, responses and related data for abuse monitoring, normally for up to 30 days, with longer retention in specified legal or safety circumstances. Provider caching may also retain derived processing data. Disabling storage of responses for later API retrieval does not remove all provider retention. We do not promise zero retention by OpenAI.
Reporting an answer
Where “Report answer” is available, you are asked to confirm sending the selected answer, including any generated exercise, its request identifier, a selected report reason and your interface language to our team through Firebase. Other conversation messages are not automatically attached. A confirmed report is an exception to the normal no-backend-transcript approach. It is associated with your account identifier and may be reviewed by authorized staff to investigate safety or quality issues. Reporting does not consume an AI question allowance.
A report is delivered only when the app confirms successful submission. For Grammar and Vocabulary, delivered reports are scheduled to expire after 35 days; automatic deletion can take additional time. Where reporting is offered in another app, reports are retained for the period necessary to review and address the issue, subject to applicable legal obligations. You can request deletion using the contact address in section 12. If reporting is unavailable, you can contact us at that address.
Deletion and international processing
Where available, you can delete or export local conversations using the chat controls. You may also remove local history by clearing the app’s local data; this can remove other saved app data as well. Local chat deletion is different from deleting an account, operational records or separately submitted reports, and does not immediately delete all provider records. To request deletion of account-linked information or exercise your privacy rights, use the available account-deletion facilities or contact pp@amr.pw.
Firebase, RevenueCat and OpenAI may process data in countries other than your own. Hosting a Firebase function in a European region does not mean every provider processes all data only in Europe. The international-transfer and children’s-privacy sections above continue to apply.
